Stella magazine is pleased to announce the RUNWAY 2014 schedule, which includes a lineup of the Pacific Island’s edgiest designers showcasing at a nighttime event on 9 August 2014 at Lamana Gold Club.
Since launching Stella magazine, the attention on fashion has been a major element, with features on Pacific Islander designers like Mere and Robert, Sarah Todd, Mes Fidji, and Samantha Farrugia. Readers have taken a predictable but unprecedented interest in purchasing local designer wear.
This season, Stella magazine will again position itself as a leading fashion stage of the Pacific Islands by hosting a selection of high-fashion collections at RUNWAY 2014, followed by a see-and-be-seen after party. Select designs will be on sale after the show.
Joining RUNWAY 2014 is curator Grace Lillian Lee (Torres Strait), who has curated runways in Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns (CIAF), Darwin, New Zealand, and San Francisco. Lee’s designs will feature at RUNWAY along with Erub Arts Centre (Torres Strait) , Sarah Todd (PNG), Mayaimi Stack (PNG), Elizabeth Omeri (PNG), Patricia and Dorothy Haroharo (PNG), Failepou Peni (Samoa) , Cecilia Keil (Samoa), and Mere & Robert (Fiji).
Thirty models will showcase around 100 looks from 10 designers in one evening.
Runway 2014 is presented by Stella magazine and Lamana Hotel, and sponsored by Next of Kin, Nippon Paint, Theodist, Nesian, Bargain Box, Six Eight Eleven, and Johnny Arrow.
