Photographer joins RUNWAY2016

Fijian-Australian Sandhya Dusk Devi Nand is a highly experienced fashion photographer in demand for her runway photography and for fashion campaign, editorial, branding shoots and performer/actor portfolios.

Her 30+ year modelling career gives her the advantage of intuitively understanding both sides of the lens as well as the rhythm of the runway. This makes her a popular choice to photograph many of Sydney's important fashion shows - including Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, Australian Bridal Fashion Week, the main design school graduate shows, Pacific Runway Australia (Official Photographer 2016) as well as international runway shows in the Pacific (Style Fiji Official Photographer 2013) and Asia (Singapore Fashion week 2016).

"I am honored and thrilled to be the Official Photographer for Runway 2016! I am a big fan of STELLA and believe in Stella editor/Runway founder Amanda Donigi's vision and purpose and championing of Pacific Power!"  says Dusk.

"Runway 2016 represents contemporary PNG without losing respect for tradition. I love fusion and forward thinking that embraces all aspects of culture and I especially love how empowering Runway 2016 is for PNG (and Pacific) women, making them see and believe that when taught, treated and applied well, fashion is a viable source of income... and a realistic future".

Dusk continues to model for online and print work, often hired to photograph herself for campaigns and editorials (the two 'flying' images (3&4) are self clicked) and she combines her modelling skills with her 30+ years background as a TV and radio presenter to share her knowledge as a Model and Presentation Coach.  Dusk will be holding a casual workshop with the fabulous models of Runway 2016 to help them hone their killer runway presence!

Photography-wise, Dusk is also highly sought after for travel photography (including as a guest of Tourism Oman in the Sultanate of Oman and traversing Nepal with World Vision), performance (including Sydney Festival, Vivid Sydney events, NAISDA, TaikOz, Circa), performer/actor portfolios, weddings and has recently turned her eye to family and maternity portraiture.

In addition to her creative photography work, Dusk is regularly hired by corporate organisations and government departments, charities, social awareness campaigners and not-for-profit organisations (including Carnival of The Bold, The Pink Sari Project and Ministry of Health).

Dusk is also a writer for print and online publications on a variety of topics, primarily fashion, feminism, multi-culturalism and once upon a time, rugby union! She sees no dichotomy between fashion and feminism, as she and Amanda Donigi have discussed; "in the Pacific, fashion is a form of feminism" - Amanda.

Dusk's dream destination is the International Space Station.  Until then, she photographs the stars from (and on) earth.
