The Global Ambassadors Program believes that women are a force for driving economic, political and social change. It is a Vital Voices and Bank of America partnership, and it connects women leaders — at a tipping point in their professional, business and leadership paths — with established women executives for mentorship.
Maria Ronna Luna Pastorizo-Sekiguchi is the managing and creative director at The Greenhouse Studio. She applied for and was selected to participate as a mentee in the program, which is taking place October 3-7 in Sydney, Australia. While there, she will join nine other women entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, business owners and nonprofit leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region for a week of one-on-one mentoring and training that will help them advance their organisations and contribute to economic growth and success in their respective countries.
Moale Vagikapi is the mentee from Papua New Guinea. She is the Founder and Director of IMA Ltd., a consultancy business offering development management and medical services. Also, to name a few notable participants, Adi Tafunai, Samoa’s Women in Business Development Inc. Founder and Executive Director; Joanna Doolan, Ernst and Young Director from New Zealand; and Amanda Ellis, New Zealand’s former Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, will be in Sydney as mentors.
To date, the Global Ambassadors Program has been held in 12 locations around the world, helping nearly 100 women leaders from around 50 countries develop the skills and strategies necessary to advance their goals and make an impact in their respective communities.
“I look forward to joining this network of social and business leaders who recognise and advocate for the role that women can play to advance economic growth and development, and to gain skills that will help me to advance my organization, The Greenhouse Studio, and our local communities,” says Ronnna.
Additionally, as the VP for the Fiji Association of Women Graduates (to be renamed Graduate Women (Fiji)), her mentor will also be assisting in strategies to strengthen the organisation that advocates for women's and girls’ education.
